Striker Charlie Davies Faces Long Recovery

USMNT player Charlie Davies will miss World Cup 2010
US Men’s National Team forward Charlie Davies has finally been released from a Washington D.C. hospital following a fatal car crash in which he was a passenger. Davies has been in the hospital recovering from his injuries for nearly a month after the October 13 accident.
The accident which left one passenger dead, happened the night before Davies was supposed to join his US Men’s National Team colleagues in their battle with Costa Rica. The driver of the vehicle lost control and crashed leaving the car split in half and one person dead.
Davies suffered several serious injuries including a lacerated bladder, facial fractures and a two broken bones in his leg (including his femur).
After being released from the hospital, Davies will rehabilitate with the US soccer team’s staff in his attempt to return to professional soccer. Unfortunately for the great young player, his dream of playing in the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ in South Africa is all but shattered. Recovery time from his injuries is slated at six to twelve months leaving him very little chance of gaining full fitness and holding down a place on the team.
We wish Charlie Davies all the best and a speedy recovery. We were able to get our hands on Charlie’s Email address and recently sent an Email to all our loyal customers asking them to send their support to him.
If you didn’t receive that Email, its not too late to send your wishes to him. Send your support to charliedavies9@yahoo.com.

What a horrible accident for United States soccer. Charlie Davies was not only one of the best up-comming players for US soccer, but had the qualities that you see in world class players. Its tremendously sad to see such an amazing talent hurt this badly, I as an american citizen wish Charlie Davies a quick and speedy recovery. I think most of the US soccer fans would agree that Charlie; when he becomes fit again would definatly be a major asset in the National Team for years to come….Best Wishes..!!
I think Charlie Davies was the national team's second best player behind Donovan. He came on the scene in a flash and always produced a solid performance. I wish Charlie a speedy recovery and hopefully he will be able to get back to the top level of playing.
