Landon Donovan‘s stock is definitely on the rise. The top American has made a huge splash in his short stint in the English Premier League. Donovan has been on loan to EPL side Everton (from LA Galaxy of the MLS) for a few months now, and the story of this European move could not be any more different than his original European stay with Bayern Munich.
Resurgent Everton has been on a tear since Donovan joined the team, reeling off victories against EPL powerhouses and current league leaders, Chelsea and Manchester United. Donovan’s impressive creative abilities and scoring touch have turned heads around England and garnered attention from several top clubs.
With his loan spell technically coming to an end following Everton’s 5-1 victory of Hull City on Sunday (in which Donovan played tremendously, scoring a goal and tallying an assist after coming on as a sub), there is speculation his loan spell could be extended and even possibly turned into a permanent move. Donovan’s comments following Sundays game indicated that his agent was already in talks with Galaxy executives to extend his stay in Liverpool.
Even more shocking news comes from the The People in London who is reporting that Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti is interested in signing Landon permanently to replace winger Joe Cole who is reportedly on his way to Manchester United on a free transfer. Chelsea are believed to be willing to pay in the range of $15 million for the American star.

Are you serious? Why would Landon Donovan wanna sit the bench at Chelsea when he could play game in game out at a team like Everton. At Chelsea there is too much pressure to succeed and there is no way he should go there. SWP is a better version of Landon and he got worse at Chelsea so what do you think will happen to him. Stay at Everton and get playing time because that is what makes you a better player, not sitting the bench amongst the Chelsea failures like Deco and the sorts. Landon is a good player who can only get better with playing time so he should stay where he is.
I cant believe I'm going to say this, but Ray Ray is right. Not completely right, but he's knocking at the door. I do agree when you say that he needs to play week in and week out. But the player level at Chelsea is much higher and while playing week in and week out is good, while playing with world class player can teach you things that you've never see before. That is what makes them world class. Donovan is playing at a high level at Everton for sure, and he stands out. Not with flashy play but with know how, he's in the righ places at the right times and is finishing most of his chances and playing some deadly balls in the box. To say that going to play a Chelsea would be a mistake is wrong. He would come off the bench mostly, but Chelsea plays in almost 100 games per year and I think Donovan could someday be a realistic choice for the Blues. It's definatley different learning curve he'll be on, but its still effective. Good luck to Donovan…Crush England..Go USA!!
Donovan is an amazing player he will do good with Chelsea he would learn to play faster and it will be help full for the world cup . Playing for Everton already helped him imagine how help full it would it be to play with Chelsea.GOOOOOOOOOOOOOD LUCK Donovan Kick Englends but for the World Cup GOOOOOOOOOOO Donovan.GO USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
