Riots have broken out throughout UK with looting and violence, yet Eltham hasn’t been touched and it’s not by luck.
Millwall fans have long been known for their hooliganism and persistent trouble with the law, yet this week they turned the tables and stood beside the law, protecting Eltham from gangs of youths that threatened more rioting and looting. The group, mostly men, gathered after rumours that Eltham would be the latest place to be hit by unrest. Knowing that this weekends riots left the cops numbers low throughout London gave Millwall fans and Eltham residents the opportunity to step up and protect their community.
Could soccer fans be London’s newest vigilante protection force?
