Arsenal’s injuries keep on coming

Van Persie's InjuryArsenal‘s injury woes never seem to go away.  Fresh off their Carling Cup Final upset against Birmingham, thanks to a nearly comedic mistake , Van Persie‘s injury seems harder to take.  News of Van Persie’s injury appeared earlier today on Arsenal‘s website thanks to an interview with Arsene Wenger, “Unfortunately, we had bad news on the scan and he will be out for the next three weeks for sure.  It could be longer. The shortest delay we can imagine is three weeks [so] he is definitely out for Barcelona.”

With Walcott already out for three weeks recovering from an ankle sprain,  Van Persie’s injury leaves Wenger with very little options.  Granted Walcott and Van Persie are injured at least once every season, but without the duo, Arsenal are going to have a tough time putting a top team on the pitch for the second leg of the final 16 against Barcelona.

The good news keeping Arsenal’s spirits up now is that their beloved captain, Cesc Fabregas, could heal his hamstring in time for the Barcelona match. If he does manage to heal in time, could this be the year that Arsenal end their six year trophy drought?

Being an Arsenal fan must be great in the beginging of the season but horrible towards the end. This year finally there was some light at the end of the tunnel after being in all the major tournaments and in the carling cup final. Everyone including myself thought that the drought would finally end the in the CC final. Instead they may have lost the champions league semi- final and the the league and the CC final in one game. RVP went down injured after scoring to tie the match. We'll see how it affects them for the rest of the season but with the like of theo walcott, RVP, Vermalen, Fabergas, Song all injured they are back to playing an extreamely young unexperienced team to get it done against these powerhouse clubs. Not only are these injured players there best players but most experienced as well, they are the ones that endured those difficult times and have built themselves for these upcoming fixtures. Its a shame that they're not going to be healthy enough to play in thes matches after all the work they've put in.

Arsenal are good enough to smash the teams they're supposed to(teams below them in the league) simply because there style of play kills teams. But the test is within the big 6 and in europe. Thats where they're going to see the difficulty in there task. Personally I hope they get past these next few weeks and get healthy again, becasue the play the gmae the right way and the deserve to win something for the growth they have shown these past few years. Good luck
