The wait is finally over as Nike and Barcelona have officially launched the 2011/2012 Barcelona Away Jersey which will be worn by Iniesta and company at the prestigious Camp Nou.
Barcelona Away Jersey Design
The 2011/2012 Barcelona Away Jersey presents one of the newest features to the Barcelona kit, the presence of paying sponsor, a first in the club’s 111 years. Replacing the UNICEF logo across the front of the jersey for the next five years will be the Qatar Foundation, a non-profit organization that works with education projects in the Middle East. While the UNICEF logo has been replaced, a partnership renewal between Barcelona and UNICEF will keep them working together, with their logo moving to the back below where the name and number will appear.
Apart from the sponsorship change, the new Nike 2011/2012 Barcelona Away Jersey provides a different look than the Nike 2010/2010 Barcelona Away Jersey and jersey’s past. No more flashy colors for Barcelona. This years away jersey features a simple black jersey with a crew neckline with center front insert. Simple and classy, Barcelona will be sporting this bold new look as visitors across Europe.
Barcelona Away Jersey Fabric
Like the Home Jersey, the 2011/2012 Barcelona Away Jersey is crafted from lightweight and breathable Dri-FIT fabric. Dri-FIT moisture wicking technology helps keep you dry and comfortable by moving sweat away from the skin to the fabric’s surface, where it quickly evaporates. Additional Dri-FIT mesh panels along the sides enhance ventilation in high-heat areas. Crafted with the environment in mind, each jersey is made from the equivalent of eight recycled plastic bottles.
